Hi there, my name is Kayla! Welcome to my first ever blog. I started this because I have a passion for fitness and I decided, hey...why not share it with others! So here we go. :) 

Before I share my fitness routine I'd like to share with you how I got started. I find it helps motivate me when I read or listen to other's journeys from beginning to end. It just kind of gives you that pump you need to get started, you know? Well, for me anyways. So I hope this motivates you to get started on a fitness journey or continue with the one you might already be on! 

So about a few years ago I was in a slump, I gained weight...I was depressed and had completely lost all hope for any self-respect I had left for myself. I thought, yup! This is it, I'm going to live with this body for the rest of my life and never stop hating it. Every day that went by I would get up, step on the scale and then look in the mirror and completely just body shame myself. I know. Horrible, right? But, I know I wasn't alone because there are plenty of young women and girls out there who were and are just like me. We all suffer from emotional stress when it comes to how we look because in the back of our minds we think that the world wants us to look perfect. But really, what is perfect? Perfect is just who YOU are, for all your flaws down to the smallest details. You are perfectly you. Once I started to come to this realization I became more positive and started working on all the things I wanted to change about my body. It wasn't until that moment that I truly accepted myself for who I was. 

So here we are today, the beginning of a new month and we are SO close to summer! You know what that means right? Time to get serious about our goals! That's right. If you want to look your best you have to put in the work and stay dedicated. It takes time and it takes patience. I'll be right here with you, though! Believe it or not, I still have a long ways to go until I reach my desired body type. That's ok though because working at a goal every day gives me satisfaction in knowing that I'm achieving something in life, something I've wanted for a long time. So I won't give up... I refuse to! Fitness is something that makes me so happy because not only does it help me improve the way I look, but it gives me a reason to get up every day to improve my health and well-being which is so important to living a happy life. You get one chance at life, but so many opportunities to change what you don't like, so take that and make it into something you love. However many things that may be, because ultimately it is your body and it is YOU who is supposed to choose how you feel and how you want to be perceived to the world around you. Always remember that. <3 

As far as my fitness goals go, I have about 25 pounds I'd like to lose. Needless to say, I've put on a bit of weight during the winter. Haha, I guess staying indoors and hibernating had its effects on me. Oops! Just remember that saying, what you eat in private you wear in public! That couldn't be truer. I must also say it is so very important to have a good workout regime. If you have that tied in with a good nutritional diet then you are set to go! Just remember to stay strict so you can achieve those goals you want. 

In my next blog, I want to share with you how I get fit and how I stay dedicated to a healthy eating plan. It's really not as hard as some people make it out to be. Once you have an idea of what you like eating, and what workouts work best for you then you're pretty much on a roll!
